Generation Empathy

EMPATIKU FOUNDATION

EMPATIKU is a civil society organization that mainstreams empathy in the security and education sectors, addressing the rise of violent behavior including violent extremism. Since its establishment in 2015, Empatiku has been innovating in its programs to ensure civil society involvement in bringing about social change.

EMPATIKU dreams of a generation of empathy. With skilled empathy and emotional intelligence, everyone has the drive and resources to solve social problems and become change makers. Partnering with communities, policy makers, women, children, educators and other stakeholders, EMPATIKU has a mission to mainstream empathy as a value and practice in life.

EDUCATION EMPATHY

To accelerate learning, EMPATIKU develops a peer-to-peer community of social workers, teachers and parents. The best strategy for professional development is through a combination of experience from regular training and informal application.

EARLY WARNING SYSTEM

Since July 2019, EMPATIKU has facilitated four villages in Tangerang City and South Tangerang City to empower community resilience capacities and develop community-based early warning systems that protect communities from violent extremist ideology. This program was implemented in partnership with C-SAVE (Civil Society Against Violent Extremism).

Community Based Rehabilitation & Reintegration

Empatiku has partnered with C-SAVE since 2017 to carry out Community-Based Rehabilitation & Reintegration for individuals exposed to violent extremist ideology (Indonesian Terrorism Law No. 5 of 2018, Article 43D, letter f).

Our Partners

Civil Society Against Violent Extremism (C-SAVE) or Society Against Terrorism and Radicalism (MATRA) to facilitate and support the emergence of innovative initiatives as a catalyst and platform provider for synergetic and collaborative work among stakeholders at local, national and international.

The Atrocity Prevention Lab is a project to strengthen innovation, collaboration, and impact of atrocity and conflict prevention work through the integration of spatial methods and technologies. Launched in 2023, this project was established by the Signal Program on Human Security and Technology at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative.
