Strategic Achievements

Empatiku has been partnering with C-SAVE since 2017 to carry out Community-Based Rehabilitation & Reintegration for individuals exposed to violent extremism ideology (Indonesian Counter-Terrorism Law No.5 of 2018, Article 43D, letter f).

In 2017 to 2019, Empatiku facilitated the social reintegration of a total of 12 families (25 people) of deportees and refugees who returned from ISIS. The aim of the program is to ensure smooth social reintegration between the client, community and government whereby clients regain social skills to reenter the community and start a new life.

Progress and Program Achievements

  • 2017 - 2019

    Facilitated the Social Reintegration

    Empatiku facilitated the social reintegration of a total of 12 families (25 people) of deportees and refugees who returned from ISIS.   • 2017 - 2020

    Series of Social Reintegration

    A series of social reintegration activities include: (1) getting to know clients and building trust; (2) introducing the program to the client and obtaining the client’s consent to participate voluntarily in the program; (3) client and community needs assessment and identification of local resources available from local communities and local government; (4) mobilization of social reintegration activities at the community level that guarantees all basic rights including civil rights (KTP and KK), health cards, and / or economic activities; (5) evaluation of the program whether to stop or continue.

    Facilitated the Social Reintegration

    In 2018 Empatiku also facilitated the social reintegration of two former terrorism convicts who collaborated with parole officers from the East and North Jakarta Parole Offices.
